Tapestry at the Old House

Being held at The Old House (HT)

Saturday 2nd December 2023, 2-4pm

The Rochford District Heritage Tapestry will be on display for a short time at the Old House (17 South Street, Rochford SS4 1BL) from 2-4pm on Saturday 2nd December. Unfortunately, we don't have sufficient space to put out a full exhibition with all the knitted figures and original drawings. However, all the tapestry panels and information boards will be on display.

This display is part of the Orchard Cultural Programme for the Rochford District.

There will also be in-costume tour guides on hand to answer questions about the history of the Old House.

Free entry. Booking is not required.

The tapestry was created over a period of 20 months through a community project involving 90 adults and 80 children. It covers 1,000 years of local history and is displayed in ten tapestry panels, each measuring over 2ft high by 3ft wide.
