One of the aims of this community project was to highlight the importance of the district’s history.
Local publicity encouraged people to get involved but a Daily Mail double page article on 24thSeptember 2020, using Drew Gardner’s photos, brought our heritage to national attention. We hope this encourages people further afield to view our website, use our “Historic Rochford” app and hopefully visit the district.
Heart Radio were next to publicise the success of the project. This Twitter video (https://twitter.com/HeartNewsEast/status/1310580020813930498?s=20) was released on 28thSeptember along with a radio broadcast.
Articles have appeared in other areas too, including a U3A Newsletter, Quaker Tapestry Newsletter and on the RDC website.
