Welcome to the 6th Rochford Scout Group
Join the adventure and discover the thrill of scouting with the 6th Rochford Scout Group! Based at St Teresa's School hall, our group offers a vibrant and inclusive environment for both girls and boys aged 6 to 15. With over 70 enthusiastic youth members and a dedicated team of more than 25 leaders and helpers, we are committed to providing a rich, exciting scouting experience.
Our Facilities and Location
Our meetings are held in the spacious and accommodating St Teresa's School hall, which serves as the central hub for all our activities. This venue is not only accessible but also provides the perfect setting for our scouts to gather, learn, and grow.
What We Offer
We specialize in a variety of outdoor activities that harness the natural curiosity and energy of our youth members. Here’s a glimpse of what we offer:
- Camping: Experience the wilderness and learn survival skills.
- Water Sports: Dive into exciting water activities, perfect for building teamwork and physical skills.
- Tomahawk Throwing: Develop precision and focus under expert guidance.
- Hiking: Explore scenic trails and learn about the natural environment while fostering a sense of adventure.
These activities are designed not only for enjoyment but also to foster confidence, independence, and teamwork. Our scouts choose their adventures, steering their own learning and personal growth.
Progressive Learning
Our program is tailored to grow with our members. Younger scouts might start with an overnight stay close to home with a parent, while older members may engage in more challenging activities like Our Patrol camps and Hammock camps. This gradual increase in responsibility helps develop crucial life skills in a supportive and caring environment.
