Essex & South Suffolk Community Rail Partnership are working with Rochford Town Team to bring the "Rochford Heritage Train" event to Rochford on Saturday 15th July.
Join us for a guided walk around Rochford to hear about the market towns’ significant buildings and long history including tales of smugglers, Anne Boleyn, coaching inns and the Peculiar People. Led by the Rochford Town Team, specialists in the towns history, the event will include a visit to the 13th Century Old House and an opportunity to view the Rochford District Heritage Tapestry which celebrates the last 1000 years of history from across the 14 parishes of the Rochford District.
Once you have arrived at Rochford Station you will be met by members of Rochford Town Team who will then lead you around the town, to The Old House and to the Heritage Tapestry. Each activity will have experts on hand to answer any questions you may have.
The event will finish around lunch time. Before you leave why not take the opportunity to enjoy one of the many restaurants and cafes within Rochford. Attendees are welcome to travel back on any train.
