Defining the task (Apr-May 2019)

Working out the optimum sizes

Knitting Our Heritage Together was the working name of this community project. The project focused on creating a series of panels to depict the key historic, Christian and social events across the Rochford District since 1020.

A ‘timeline’ was produced and refined, summarising the events across the district into 10 panels. However, more research was needed to gather information from each parish, so that all parishes could be fairly represented.

An overall layout was agreed so that there was consistency across the panels. Taking into account the available budget, we worked out the optimum size of the panels, maximising the necessary materials required for mounting and framing, whilst also considering the future storage and transportation challenges.
